Arvind Kejriwal
Today’s News from Hindustan Times:
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who had a low approval rating before 2016, has gained an enormous number of supporters in recent months. He is now considered by 53 per cent of voters as their third choice for prime minister and has garnered widespread support.
He is polling more support than two top BJP figures–Union home minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath–who each garnered 14 per cent support.
However, the AAP is aiming to capture Congress’ traditional vote share in all major states. If Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra results in consolidation of Congress support in some states, Kejriwal may find it challenging to form alliances with regional parties.
On Thursday, Kejriwal took to Twitter to celebrate Delhi’s success in dropping from the list of world’s most polluted cities. He noted that after a long wait, they have finally achieved this achievement and their efforts are bearing fruit – but there is still much work left to be done.
